Today in ELA we discussed writing claims and backing them up with evidence; while some claims seem more based in facts, some tend to sound more like an opinion. The key is that a CLAIM/Thesis can always be backed up with evidence (even if you do not agree with the information). We worked on writing long. In Social Studies we continued to work on

Today in Language Arts, we did a hunt in our biographies to find writing strategies used in informational writing to make it interesting. Informational writing can tend to be boring and we want to avoid that in our final biography report. The final product can be in many forms; essay, graphic novel, bookish, etc......
In Social Studies, we continued to study Ancient Egypt.
