Today in ELA we continued to work on our Reader's Theater with the 8th grade theater class. Some main take-aways:

Today we discussed Reader's Theater and students were given their scripts. In their groups, they decided which roles they were going to read. With the help of 8th grade theater class, students will have a week to prepare their Reader's Theater and will present to the class next Tuesday.

We have continued to discuss literary devices in class and added a new poem "style" today to our repertoire. We used Harlem (as seen above) for a number of reasons: mentor text, strong use of literary devices and figurative language, etc.... After our discussion, students created their own Dream Poem.
